아시아구강안면통증측두하악장애학회(Asian Academy of Orofacial Pain and Temporomandibular Disorders, AAOT)는 30여년 전인 지난 1988년 한국, 일본, 대만 등을 포함한 아시아의 5개국이 참여하여 구강안면통증과 측두하악장애에 대한 연구 성과와 임상 경험을 공유하기 위해 아시아두개하악장애학회(Asian Academy of Craniomandibular Disorders)로 시작하였으며, 현재 한국, 일본, 대만, 필리핀, 인도네시아, 태국을 회원국으로 두고 있다. 한국에서는 대한측두하악장애학회가 대표 학회로서 참여하고 있다.

세계 구강안면통증 및 측두하악장애 학술대회(International Congress of Orofacial Pain and TemporomandibularDisorders, ICOT)는 4년마다 정기적으로 5개의 자매 학회에서 순회 주최하는 세계 학술대회로서, 1차 대회는 1992년 미국 시카고에서 2차 대회는 1996년 프랑스 파리에서 개최되었으며 3차 대회는 2000년 아시아에서 한국의 서울에서 개최되어서 성황리에 진행된 바 있다. 제5차 대회로 5개 대륙이 순환 개최한 1기를 마치고, 지난 2014년 미국 학술대회를 시작으로 2기가 진행 중이다.
